Alice in Wonderland

I've created a book with colouring pages with Alice in Wonderland story: the initial concept and design of characters (main hero Alice and all supporting ones), scene breakdowns and colour scheme was up to me. Originally all images except for cover were black-and-white, I coloured them to have a better idea of the project itself and my style in portfolio.

Few details about colouring pages creation process

The key element of colouring pages creation, is that basically it is the same process, as making a regular illustration - thinking of concept, heroes, layout, colour scheme - but you need to stop on black-and-white contour stage, but make sure, that when coloured, the image will look as great as possible, especially having in mind, that it can be coloured by anyone in any way, that can be imagined.

Despite of quasi-simplicity, to make a good colouring page is even more complicated, than to create a coloured illustration, because you need to think wider and as far as possible predict how your black-and-white image will look like when coloured.

And colouring my own pages for this "Alice in Wonderland" book was an excellent way to validate, that everything is ok. I like the result.
